DigiMed Secure Cloud

The Leibniz Supercomputing Centre operates a secure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Community Cloud, implementing a robust threat model based on confidential computing via confidential virtual machines. It is a multi-tenant, end-to-end encrypted, and compliant platform that provides a safe house for Bavarian health researchers. It allows the 14 members of the DigiMed consortium to seamlessly collaborate on heart related multi-omic data. The system is built on the Sovereign Cloud Stack distribution and high-performance Quobyte storage system. As a pilot system, its purpose is to provide a blueprint for building sovereign Trusted Research Environments (TREs) owned and operated by academia.
