Bio^M Biotech Cluster Development GmbH

Bio^M has been the network organization of the biotechnology industry in Munich and Bavaria since 1997, and operates on behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. Around 410 biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies are active in the greater Munich area. The region's core competence is the development of innovative therapeutics and diagnostics, especially for personalized medicine. With an extensive network, Bio^M supports the Bavarian biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry in establishing new business contacts. To interested regional, national and international stakeholders Bio^M offers a central access and a wide range of information about the sector.

Bio^M organizes a large spectrum of training courses, events and network meetings “from experts for experts” as well as for newcomers. Comprehensive advice and specialized coaching, training and mentoring programs is offered, especially for prospective company founders. In total, Bio^M has supported more than 200 company foundations in 20 years.

Institute of Technology-Theology-Natural Sciences (TTN), Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich

The research on ELSI (Ethical, Legal and Social Implications) impact of DigiMed Bayern is carried out by the TTN, excellently staffed for the ethically implementation of the project.
The TTN Institute sees itself as an interdisciplinary platform for scientific discourse. The focus of the current research lies in particular on ethical questions in the areas of biological and genetic engineering, medicine, information and communication technologies, and energy technology as well as their economic application. In addition to organizing public meetings or seminars, TTN works on projects on ethically relevant topics.

Faculty of Law, University of Augsburg (UAU)

The UAU Institute for Biological, Health and Medical Law covers public law, civil law and criminal law in the spectrum of biological, health and medical legal topics. The research center for medical device law of the UAU exists since 2005 as a facility of this kind that is still unique in Europe. In 2015, the research center for e-health law was opened, the first independent research facility in Germany dealing specifically with complex legal issues within the e-health and m-health sectors.
