    'Alena Buyx is Professor of Ethics in Medicine and Health Technologies and Di
     rector of the Institute of History and Ethics in Medicine at Technical Unive
     rsity of Munich. She is a medical doctor with degrees in philosophy and soci
     ology.<br />Her research spans the whole field of biomedical and public heal
     th ethics and questions of solidarity and justice. In addition to research a
     nd teaching, Professor Buyx is active in the political and regulatory aspect
     s of biomedical ethics, sitting on several high-level national and internati
     onal ethics bodies concerned with policy development and implementation. She
      was a member of the German Ethics Council from 2016 to 2024 and chaired it 
     from 2020 to 2024. Since April 2024, she serves as a member of the German Fe
     deral Government's Expert Council on Health and Resilience.
