Institute of Informatics, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU_II)
The LMU_II research groups "Communication Systems and System Programming" and "Data Mining in Medicine" contribute their great expertise in medical informatics. In Germany, the LMU_II holds second place in the number of publications per professor, one of the most important indicators for the research performance of a department. The Leipniz Supercomputing Center and the LMU_II work closely together.

Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ)

The LRZ has extensive expertise and infrastructure to (i) collect existing and prospective data in content and structure, (ii) design a secure data concept, and (iii) provide a scalable and data protection-compliant infrastructure. The LRZ operates the Munich Science Network (MWN), which connects more than 540 locations. As one of three national supercomputing centers, it operates one of the world's most powerful supercomputers (SuperMUC / SuperMUC-NG), supplemented by automated storage capacities. As a Bavarian Big Data center of excellence with an explicit embedding in the BAYERN DIGITAL strategy of the state government, the LRZ fits perfectly to substantially advance DigiMed Bayern and the Free State as a whole in its digitization strategy.

Department of Informatics, Technical University of Munich

Prof. Jonas and his chair support studies in the health context by integrating data from environmental sensors and mobile, body-hugging sensors (wearables). The focus is on validation and evaluation of commercially available sensors, as well as on data protection-compliant and privacy-friendly processing of data.
