The MPI carries out precise proteomic and metabolomic measurements as well as scientific analysis and evaluation of the data. Professor Mann's department has an international pioneering role in the development and application of new technologies for the quantitative determination of proteins in biological samples using high-resolution mass spectrometry. The working group also develops and establishes metabolomic analysis methods and bioinformatic standard tools. Thanks to its direct application in cardiovascular research, the working group is optimally positioned for DigiMed Bayern.

In close cooperation, the TUMK_IHG and the HMGU_ING take over the genetic, genomic and transcriptomic analysis of patient samples as well as parts of the scientific bioinformatic evaluation of the human genetic. The institutes have long experience in the operation of high-throughput platforms for DNA and RNA sequencing and genotyping, in the molecular and cellular research of diseases as well as therapeutic approaches and clinical care.
